selftests/bpf: Fix csum_partial() dropping trailing byte on odd length: applied to Linux kernel
bpf-next by Alexei Starovoitov on 2026-09-23 as commit ddaa827dcea4 (External link).csum_partial() in the BPF selftests summed only len >> 1 16-bit words, so it dropped the last byte of an odd-length buffer. RFC 1071 says that byte should be padded with zero and summed as one more word. The helper backs build_ip_csum(), build_udp_v4_csum() and build_udp_v6_csum(), which flow_dissector_classification.c and xdp_metadata.c use to hand-build packets.Version Date Tree Status v1 (External link) 2026-09-15 bpfsuperseded v2 (External link) 2026-09-16 bpfsuperseded v3 (External link) 2026-09-20 bpf-nextapplied
